The League One club currently sit 14th in the table with 30 points from 24 games, nine points behind sixth-placed Bolton Wanderers.
Exeter are looking to strengthen Gary Caldwell’s squad mid-season, and Tutierov has emerged as a target.
Football 24 journalist Kateryna Bondarenko reports that the 20-year-old Ukraine U21 international is set to leave Régis Le Bris’ Sunderland side for Exeter City.
According to Bondarenko, Sunderland have agreed to send Tutierov on loan to the League One side, although there is no mention of a purchase option, suggesting it will likely be a temporary deal until the end of the season.
Tutierov, a product of FC Kolos Kovalivka’s youth system, never featured for their senior team. Nevertheless, Sunderland secured his signature on a permanent deal in June 2023.
The winger has been a regular for Sunderland U21s, featuring in 43 matches and recording 16 goals and five assists—nine goals and one assist coming this season.
While Tutierov’s performances have impressed Le Bris, he has yet to make his senior debut, having been an unused substitute in the last four Premier League matches.
The move to Exeter City represents an opportunity for the young winger to gain first-team experience in League One and make a case for future inclusion in Sunderland’s senior squad—assuming the loan does not include an option to buy and he remains committed to a long-term future with the Black Cats
