According to Matteo Moretto via FCInterNews, Forest continue to monitor Frattesi’s situation closely and remain keen on bringing him to the City Ground before the window closes. Despite talks hitting an early stumbling block, the Tricky Trees are understood to be weighing up their next move as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
Inter Milan had previously explored the possibility of a high-profile swap deal, suggesting that Forest include Dan Ndoye as part of negotiations. However, that proposal was swiftly rejected, with Forest making it clear they have no intention of letting the Swiss winger leave. The firm stance from the English side has temporarily stalled discussions between the two clubs.
Even so, Forest are not ready to walk away. Sources suggest they could soon return with a fresh approach, potentially in the form of a straight cash offer, as they assess how best to revive negotiations.
From Inter’s perspective, Frattesi’s future remains uncertain. Since his move from Sassuolo, the midfielder has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at San Siro. His role has become even more limited following Cristian Chivu’s appointment last summer, with his influence within the squad noticeably reduced.
As a result, Frattesi may be open to a new challenge that offers more consistent playing time. However, any deal will not come cheap. Inter are believed to be holding out for a fee in the region of €35 million, a figure Forest would need to meet if they are to finally tempt the Serie A giants into selling.
For now, the pursuit remains alive—paused, but far from over—as Nottingham Forest consider their next move in the race for Davide Frattesi.
