The 20-year-old has already attracted serious attention across Europe. Turkish giants Besiktas have tabled a €7 million bid for Hjertø-Dahl, who has made 87 appearances in all competitions for Tromsø. He has also gained valuable continental experience, featuring four times in the UEFA Conference League.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Everton have recently “made moves” to explore a potential deal for the midfielder. Liverpool are said to have done likewise, while Rangers were previously monitoring the situation. Bournemouth are also firmly in the race, with the report claiming the Cherries have submitted a “significant” January offer.
Despite Everton’s late entry into the chase in the past few hours, Hjertø-Dahl is currently strongly inclined towards a switch to Besiktas. The player is now waiting for Tromsø and the Turkish side to finalise an agreement, with Serie A clubs increasingly likely to miss out.
Union Berlin have also shown interest, but Besiktas’ proposal appears to have outmatched all rival suitors so far.
At international level, Hjertø-Dahl has earned six caps for Norway’s U21 side. During the 2025 Eliteserien campaign, he impressed with four goals and seven assists.
However, the Norwegian league concluded in November, meaning the midfielder has not played competitively for several weeks. That factor could be a concern for clubs like Everton, who would ideally want any January signing to make an immediate impact.
Liverpool’s name has continued to surface in recent days, although there is a suggestion that an agent may be working behind the scenes to amplify — whether genuine or not — interest in Hjertø-Dahl.
