Stunning Comeback, Cruel Defeat, and Transfer Relief—Fulham Seal star Agreement

Fulham are edging closer to completing a late transfer deal ahead of their Premier League clash with Everton next weekend.

Marco Silva and his players thought they had rescued a dramatic point at Old Trafford on Sunday after mounting a stunning late comeback against Manchester United.

Trailing 2-0 deep into the match, Raul Jimenez reignited Fulham’s hopes by converting a penalty in the 85th minute. The comeback appeared complete moments later when Kevin thundered home a superb equaliser in the 91st minute, silencing the home crowd.

However, the celebrations were short-lived. Just three minutes later, Benjamin Sesko struck to restore Manchester United’s lead, leaving Fulham empty-handed despite their late surge.

Silva may soon have reason to smile, though, with Fulham reportedly closing in on a significant late signing before Monday’s 7pm transfer deadline. According to Fabrizio Romano, the club have agreed a €37m (£32m) package with PSV Eindhoven for striker Ricardo Pepi, with personal terms also finalised.

With deadline day falling on a Monday, Pepi is expected to be available in time for Fulham’s next fixture. The Cottagers host Everton at Craven Cottage on Saturday before facing a tough trip to Manchester City days later.

The 23-year-old United States international joined PSV in 2023 after spells with FC Augsburg and FC Dallas. He has been in strong form this season, scoring eight goals in 15 Eredivisie appearances. Overall, Pepi has registered 37 goals and eight assists in 90 appearances for the Dutch club—numbers that could provide Fulham with a timely attacking boost for the remainder of the campaign.
