Marco Silva emerges as dream target
Fulham boss Marco Silva is the man Marinakis is keen to bring to the City Ground. The Portuguese coach is among three prominent Premier League managers whose contracts expire this summer, alongside Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola and Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner.
Significantly, Silva has not yet agreed to fresh terms with Fulham despite ongoing talks, a situation that has encouraged Marinakis, who believes he may have an opportunity to reunite with the 48-year-old.
Their relationship dates back to Olympiakos, where Silva guided the Greek side to a record-breaking Super League title and developed a strong bond with the Forest owner. Marinakis reportedly sees him as the ideal figure to restore stability and deliver the long-term vision he has for the club.
Fulham, though, are determined to keep hold of their manager, who holds a 43.93% win rate at Craven Cottage. Vice-chairman Tony Khan recently reiterated his confidence that Silva will remain in west London.
“I have a great relationship with Marco. I love working with Marco, and I absolutely want Marco to be here for a long time. I think he will be, and I believe that,” Khan told TalkSport.
“In Marco’s own words, I think there’s great chemistry, and everyone is very aligned working together here at Fulham.”
Despite Fulham’s public stance, sources suggest Marinakis is ready to move quickly should Silva indicate any willingness to leave. For now, Dyche’s position appears increasingly precarious as Forest consider their next move.
