After shipping four goals against Arsenal, Tudor now faces the prospect of setting an unwanted Premier League record if Spurs suffer a similar fate away to Fulham this weekend. Historically, Tottenham’s recent visits to Craven Cottage offer little reassurance.
Tudor opted for a 3-5-2 system in the derby, but the tactical approach backfired badly. To date, only Martin Jol has lost his first two matches in charge of Spurs (November 2004). No Premier League manager has ever conceded four or more goals in each of his first two games — a statistic Tudor is now dangerously close to matching.
Tottenham’s recent record against Fulham adds to the concern. Spurs have lost their last two trips to Craven Cottage by a combined score of 5–0. Fulham have also won three of their last four league meetings with Tottenham — as many victories as they managed in the previous 26 encounters — underlining the growing confidence within Marco Silva’s squad.
Given those numbers, Tudor may need to rethink his approach. Persisting with three centre-backs could be interpreted as caution that Fulham might exploit. If the hosts seize control, Spurs’ fragile defence — exposed so brutally by Arsenal — could once again unravel.
While Fulham impressed with a 3–1 win at Sunderland in their last outing, they have not won at home since 24 January. On paper, this represents one of Tottenham’s more manageable away fixtures, especially with daunting trips to Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa still ahead.
Spurs are still searching for their first league victory of 2026, but current form suggests another difficult afternoon on the road. Should Tottenham falter again, Tudor risks etching his name into the record books — for all the wrong reasons.
